Summary
AA2IT is recruiting for a remote Epic Web/Service Server Engineer assignment supporting a healthcare environment. The role installs, manages, and configures Epic application deployment platforms, maintains availability and performance tools, applies upgrades, troubleshoots integrations, documents systems, and collaborates with technical teams and Epic.
Responsibilities
- Complete time management, status reports and task updates as required by management
- Adheres to IS Processes and follows the Health Care System Policies and Procedures
- Operate effectively as part of a larger team and managing their own work
- Prioritizes work to meet project timelines and present deliverables in a timely manner
- Gain an understanding of customer requirements and their impact on the direction of a solution
- Develop a working understanding of the areas of IT and the Cook Childrens products and services
- Form productive relationships with internal customers by listening, clarifying, and responding effectively
- Respond to user problems, and present deliverables in a timely manner
- Be able to work effectively with Information Services colleagues
- Shares knowledge effectively within the work team
- The Epic Web/Service Server Engineer installs, manages, and configures the Epic application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs
- Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system, applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production Web server components, assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals
- Follows vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration
- Responsible for creating and updating documentation and maintaining current system details in a centralized knowledge base
- Collaborating with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support
- Maintaining knowledge and testing processes for supporting outstanding issues and tasks such as supporting Business Continuity, retooling emerging technologies, capacity planning, and other Epic application maintenance requirements
Skills
- Current Epic ECSA certification is required at time of submission
- Required Education: -High School
- Current Epic ECSA Certification or certification gained within 6 months of employment
- One or more Third Party Certifications or certification gained within 6 months of employment

- Three (3) years of progressive responsibilities/experience in one or a combination of the following areas: Web Services, Server Administrator, Systems Engineer, Network Administration
- Understanding of operating system concepts such as user and group ownership and file permissions, file system/volume group configuration, etc
- Knowledge of PowerShell
- Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance
- Able to exercise independent judgment and take action
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
