Job description
Summary
Adams Electric Company is a leading electrical construction contractor specializing in delivering high-quality electrical solutions for commercial and industrial projects. They are seeking a skilled IT Technician to provide technical support and maintain their IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations across various job sites.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support for hardware and software issues. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with computers, network systems, and other IT equipment
- System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades on IT systems, including servers, workstations, and network devices
- Installation and Setup: Set up and configure new hardware and software. Assist with the installation of IT equipment on job sites as needed
- Network Management: Monitor and manage network performance, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Ensure network security and resolve connectivity issues
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and support activities. Create and update documentation for IT procedures and policies
- Travel Requirements: Travel to our Greensboro location and other job sites as required to support IT needs on various projects
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to understand IT needs and provide solutions that support operational efficiency
Skills
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a related role. Experience in a construction or contractor environment is a plus
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, networking concepts, and common IT tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving IT issues
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to Greensboro, NC, and other job sites as required
Qualifications
