Summary
AG&E Associates is a global structural engineering firm delivering innovative solutions across mission critical, aviation, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The Structural Design Engineer will perform structural analysis and design, prepare calculations and specifications, coordinate with project teams, support construction administration, and contribute to training, client meetings, and business development activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for mission critical, aviation, or advanced manufacturing related projects
- Work under the direction of a licensed professional engineer and collaborate with project teams
- Assist with selection of materials, structural systems, and preparation of notes and details
- Prepare structural specifications and coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines
- Deliver calculations and documentation on schedule and within budget
- Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
- Perform site observations and prepare reports as needed
- Support senior engineers on large-scale projects
- Assist with internal training and knowledge sharing
- Coordinate tasks for support staff and review work of junior engineers
- Participate in client meetings, documentation, and business development activities
Skills
- Bachelor's and Master's in Civil/Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) required
- Pursuing PE licensure in state of residence (structural designation); engineer in training (EIT) required
- Minimum 2 years of structural building design experience
- Knowledge of building codes and structural design standards
- Proficiency with RAM Structural System or Tekla Structural Designer, Revit, BIM 360, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood preferred
