Job description

Summary

AKG of America is a company that values teamwork, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement. They are seeking a Test Engineer responsible for supporting the validation of new products and conducting testing and validation efforts to meet market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Component selection (heat exchangers, pumps, fans, compressors, controls, etc)
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA)
  • Commitment to AKG’s Corporate Principles
  • Support market research led by Marketing and Product Development Manager and identify opportunities for product improvement within AKG’s catalogue
  • Support the creation of new tests and methods for validation and verification of product characteristics and requirements
  • Execute verification and validation testing at the request of other departments
  • Write technical report to summarize testing and validation efforts
  • Provide engineering support to Testing and Validation department
  • Build and test Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) prototypes

Skills

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Strong thermodynamics background
  • Strong structural knowledge
  • Able to engineer creative and sound technical solutions
  • Technical writing and English capabilities
  • Strong Excel and Matlab data management skills
  • Wiring and instrumentation experience
  • Data acquisition experience
  • Machine shop/fabrication experience
  • TIG welding capability
  • CAN Architecture familiarity
  • Experience with high voltage
  • Experience with Battery Thermal Management Systems

Qualifications

Must Haves
