Job description

Summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) operates global cloud infrastructure, including data centers and the equipment that supports them. The Mechanical Engineer will design energy-efficient mechanical systems for next-generation data centers, lead cross-functional engineering initiatives, oversee projects from conception through implementation, and improve facility performance through data analysis and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for next-generation data centers
  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
  • Oversee project lifecycle from conception through implementation, including budget management
  • Foster collaborative relationships with hardware teams to optimize facility-equipment integration
  • Guide continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring

Skills

  • 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
  • 4+ years of commissioning experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
  • Experience in commissioning
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Qualifications

Must Haves
