Job description
Summary
Ambitus is an applied AI product and research company that partners with domain experts and enterprises to advance frontier AI capabilities. The Construction Project Engineer reviews building drawing sets against governing documents, evaluates AI-generated compliance reviews, develops engineering review tasks and grading criteria, and documents findings and assumptions.
Responsibilities
- Review multi-discipline drawing sets against a governing document and identify every non-compliance, including violations that only surface when sheets, details, and schedules are cross-referenced
- Record each finding in a structured format (CSV), citing the sheet, element tag or grid reference, governing clause, and a clear description of the issue
- Evaluate AI-generated review findings against reference answers, flagging missed violations, false positives, incorrect locations, and misapplied clauses
- Develop challenging review tasks, reference answer sets, and grading criteria that reflect professional engineering practice
- Document assumptions and interpretations where the governing document or drawings are ambiguous or conflicting
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, with current work on building projects and hands-on experience in drawing review, QA/QC, or plan check
