Job description

Summary

American Modern Insurance Group is a leader in the specialty insurance market, recognized for its strong relationships with agent partners. They are seeking a Personal Lines Underwriting Intern to gain hands-on experience, work on multi-week projects, and provide underwriting support while developing professional connections.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for multi-week projects and may complete basic Underwriting tasks
  • Project topics are based on business needs
  • Example project scope: Detailed analysis, streamlining, process improvement, or automation recommendations
  • You will also be trained in Underwriting basics and philosophy
  • Provide underwriting support daily workflow (various tasks may be included such as inspection review, agent correspondence, endorsements, renewal activity)
  • Project support such as development, research, and issue/resolution for various projects as needed
  • Department Data/Analytics support such as reviewing aspects of project or operational outputs and outcomes, analyzing various sets of data for potential recommendations for change or solutions to given issues

Skills

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or graduate's degree. IRM, Finance, Business, Business/Data Analytics, or other related major
  • Graduation date between December 2024 and May 2027
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks
  • Strong interest in the insurance industry
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America
  • Candidates must be local (Cincinnati, OH) and will work in the office at least 2 days a week

  • Graduation date between December 2024 and May 2027
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks
  • Strong interest in the insurance industry
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America
  • Candidates must be local (Cincinnati, OH) and will work in the office at least 2 days a week
