Job description

Summary

ANSER enhances national and homeland security by strengthening public institutions. They are seeking cybersecurity professionals to help secure mission-critical systems that support U.S. national security and defense operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance related to cybersecurity capabilities, requirements, processes and policies
  • Provide guidance for and/or conduct cybersecurity assessments and support implementation of cybersecurity controls across classified and sensitive systems
  • Support system authorization efforts under frameworks such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Perform vulnerability scans, analyze results, and assist with mitigation planning
  • Monitor security tools and logs to identify potential threats or anomalous activity
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure cybersecurity is embedded throughout the system lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and security assessment reports
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and readiness reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with federal cybersecurity standards

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role, ideally supporting DoD or federal government programs
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-53, RMF, FISMA, or DoD cybersecurity policy
  • Experience with or understanding of cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, Nessus, Splunk, or endpoint protection platforms
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or higher is required for most positions with some positions requiring Secret or Top Secret clearances
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CAP are a strong plus
