Summary
Appian is a company that provides AI automation for mission-critical work, and they are seeking an Information Security Engineer Intern. In this role, you will actively contribute to security operations, cloud architecture defense, and compliance automation while gaining hands-on exposure to cutting-edge cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Execute continuous monitoring activities to ensure continuous alignment with internal security controls, industry regulations, and cyber compliance standards
- Help identify, design, and implement automated processes for conducting internal and external security reviews and control evaluations
- Assess current security risks, emerging vulnerability trends, and technical requirements across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments
- Partner with cross-functional technical teams to translate complex security concepts into actionable strategies for diverse audiences
- Assist in evaluating risk profiles and driving Appian’s global information security program forward
Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related STEM field with a strong academic record
- Must be returning to school following the completion of the Summer 2027 internship to continue degree requirements
- Ability to commit to a full-time (40 hours/week) schedule for the duration of the 10-week summer program
- Proven fluency in AI and LLMs, encompassing both the strategic development of AI-powered platform capabilities and the hands-on application of AI tools to accelerate daily workflows
- Prior experience in a technical internship or a portfolio of significant personal/academic projects
