Summary
AQR Capital Management is a global investment firm focused on delivering long-term results through rigorous testing and innovative strategies. As a Front Office Development Engineering Summer Analyst, you will collaborate with researchers to develop and refine systematic investment strategies while maintaining a robust technological infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with researchers to create new systematic investment strategies
- Refine existing strategies
- Apply technology expertise along with a practical understanding of markets to implement research ideas
- Develop systems that further enable the business
- Maintain a sophisticated infrastructure and tooling environment in support of the business
- Orchestrate numerous workflows with large amounts of data
- Build or extend data ingestion and validation engine
- Develop Portfolio Rebalancing and Order Generation Platform and Services
- Create backtesters and related historical simulation tools
- Build scalable, AWS-based storage and computing infrastructure
Skills
- Ability and desire to develop in Python (our primary language for the business)
- Ability and desire to develop in Java
- Understanding of design patterns and object-oriented programming techniques
- Knowledge of best practices for large scale application design, SOA, microservices, distributed compute, containers, and use of the cloud
- Strong attention to detail, passion for careful testing
- Excellent communication skills
- Finishing either a Bachelor's or Master's degree program between December 2027 and June 2028
- Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate within a collaborative, team-oriented culture
- Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, innovative environment
- Look beyond the surface level to understand the underlying details
- Understanding or experience in finance a plus
