Job description

Summary

Assurant is offering a 12-week internship program focused on hands-on learning, mentorship, and professional development. The Product Analyst Intern will support voluntary homeowners and condominium insurance products by analyzing performance, market trends, and customer needs, while developing insights, documentation, and recommendations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing product performance, profitability, customer needs, and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Help turn data into clear reports, visualizations, and insights for team members and business partners
  • Conduct competitive and market research to support product decisions
  • Support the development of business requirements, user stories, workflows, and product documentation
  • Gain exposure to product changes throughout the development lifecycle, including planning, quality assurance, regulatory filing, implementation, and post-launch analysis
  • Collaborate with teams such as Product Management, Actuarial, Underwriting, Sales, and Technology
  • Help identify opportunities to improve products, reporting, and team processes
  • Participate in team meetings, ask questions, share ideas, and contribute to assigned projects

Skills

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Risk/Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field. Expected graduation between December 2027 – June 2029
  • Interest in product analysis, business analysis, data analysis, market research, insurance, or product development
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, accept feedback, and collaborate with others
  • Previous professional experience is not required
  • You must be work authorized in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to F-1 (student) visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full time basis
  • Experience working with data through coursework, academic projects, student organizations, or a previous internship
  • Familiarity with data visualization concepts or tools
  • Exposure to SQL, Power BI, or similar data and reporting tools
  • An interest in insurance products, customer behavior, or market trends
