Summary
Asteris is a veterinary imaging technology company developing the Keystone PACS software suite for diagnostic imaging workflows. The Software Developer will build and evolve PACS platform features involving DICOM data, imaging integrations, performance, scalability, testing, and production reliability while collaborating with Product and Support teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain features across the Keystone PACS platform
- Work with DICOM data and imaging workflows, including storage, transfer, viewing, and reporting
- Build and support integrations with imaging modalities and practice management systems
- Design services with a strong focus on high availability, scalability, performance, and observability
- Take end-to-end ownership of the quality, testing, and production readiness of what you build
- Write clean, well-documented code and take part in code and design reviews
- Build prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate new technologies
- Work with the Support team to identify and fix performance, scalability, and production issues
- Collaborate with Product and Support to translate client needs into solutions
Skills
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience with medical imaging, PACS, and the DICOM standard
- Strong skills in a modern object-oriented language, such as C# / .NET or C++
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Solid understanding of networking and client/server architecture
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team
- Experience with HL7 or healthcare integrations
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and image storage at scale
- Experience with 3D rendering or advanced image viewers
