Summary
Atlassian’s DX Fabric team is building the context engine for AI-native engineering, providing software cataloging, scorecards, and self-service capabilities to help engineering organizations understand and improve their systems. This role focuses on backend-heavy fullstack development, scalable REST APIs, and collaborative product work to support high-scale distributed services and AI-enabled workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship features and capabilities daily in a highly scalable, cross-geo distributed environment
- Focus on backend-heavy fullstack development, building robust REST APIs while contributing to customer-facing React components
- Review code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, reliability, security, and performance considerations in mind
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers to understand user pain points and iterate on great solutions
- Ensure full visibility, error reporting, and monitoring of high-performing backend services
- Participate in Agile software development including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and team retrospectives
Skills
- This role is open to candidates across all U.S. time zones, with a preference for Pacific or Mountain Time. This is a fully remote position
- 4+ years of experience building and developing backend applications with a lean towards fullstack capabilities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, Python)
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and supporting libraries (e.g., React, Node)
- Experience crafting and implementing highly scalable and performant RESTful micro-services
- Fluency in at least one database technology (e.g., RDBMS like Postgres and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and hands-on experience with public cloud offerings (AWS preferred)
- A passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal and communication skills
