Job description

Big Brands. Real Ownership. An Unforgettable Summer.

Brand Management Intern | Summer 2027 | Memphis, TN

Ready to take what you’ve learned in the classroom and put it to work on brands people know and trust?

At Barr Brands, you won’t spend your summer watching from the sidelines. You’ll dig into consumer behavior, tackle real business challenges, and help shape ideas that can move a brand forward. Bring your curiosity, analytical skills, and point of view - we’ll give you opportunities to make them count.

Meet Barr Brands

We’re the employee-owned company behind brands including DampRid, Goof Off, Mold Armor, and Klean Strip. Our products help people solve everyday problems, care for their homes, and get the job done.

Brand management here sits at the intersection of creativity, consumer understanding, and business leadership. We ask smart questions, work across teams, take ownership - and have fun along the way.

What You Will Do

From uncovering what consumers need, to exploring where a brand could go next, you’ll contribute to work that matters. During your internship, you’ll:

  • Lead a real project from start to finish, with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Turn insights into action through consumer research, market analysis, and creative problem-solving.
  • Help shape brand growth through exposure to strategy, innovation, concept development, advertising, and go-to-market planning.
  • Work across the business to see how an idea becomes a product - and how a plan becomes a result.
  • Find and strengthen your business voice by presenting insights, making recommendations, and building support for your ideas.
  • Learn directly from experienced consumer packaged goods leaders who will challenge, coach, and support you throughout the summer.

What You’ll Bring

You’re curious about why people buy, energized by solving problems, and ready to connect classroom learning with business decisions.

We’re looking for:

  • A completed bachelor’s degree and an MBA in progress, preferably with a focus on marketing or brand management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and consumer insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Clear communication and the ability to turn information into a compelling recommendation.
  • Organization, initiative, and follow-through when managing projects and deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn from people with different perspectives.

Previous marketing experience is a plus. Curiosity, preparation, and a drive to contribute will help you make the most of your summer.

What You’ll Gain

  • Work you’ll be proud to talk about. Build concrete examples of your thinking, leadership, and impact.
  • A front-row seat to brand management.  Experience both the day-to-day decisions that keep a business moving and the innovation that fuels future growth.
  • Coaching that helps you grow. Receive hands-on mentorship and candid feedback throughout the summer.
  • Access to accomplished CPG leaders. Learn from and present to a CPG powerhouse leadership team with extensive experience at major consumer packaged goods companies.
  • An owner’s perspective. See how accountability, collaboration, and shared success come to life in an employee-owned company.
  • A summer home in Memphis. We’ll provide housing for the duration of your internship.
  • A city with serious personality. Explore the music, food, history, and culture that make Memphis one of a kind.

Bring Your Curiosity. Build Something Real.
