Summary
Barr Engineering Co. is an employee-owned engineering firm seeking an electrical technician/designer to support its power delivery team. The role focuses on detailed electrical design for high-voltage facilities, including CADD drafting, electrical drawings, and substation physical or renewable energy system design while collaborating with engineers, designers, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Use AutoCAD and other CADD software to create detailed electrical drawings for high voltage electric substations and transmission lines
- Effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to align technical work with project objectives while fostering strong, productive working relationships
Skills
- Two-year technical certificate or equivalent experience/coursework directly related to electrical design
- 5 years of relevant experience related to the job responsibilities described above
- Proficiency with current versions of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
- Possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
- 10+ years of experience working in a design capacity on projects directly related to the job responsibilities described above at a consulting engineering or industrial organization
- Ability to independently create drawings based on general direction
