Job description

Summary

Bechtel is an engineering and construction company serving infrastructure, nuclear, energy, mining, metals, manufacturing, and technology markets. The Nuclear Engineering Intern will support multidisciplinary research and development involving nuclear energy and radiation processes, instruments, and systems, while developing calculations, coordinating regulatory materials, and supporting engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the calculations associated with nuclear facilities
  • Understanding the regulatory requirements and processes for nuclear facilities
  • Coordinating the development and presentation of materials for meetings with regulators
  • Providing direct support to other engineering disciplines for nuclear related matters
  • Preparing calculations to determine radiation protection requirements
  • Analyzing facility hazards and developing the system safety basis

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Nuclear Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in the above field
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Nuclear Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
