Software Engineer II - Payments Platform

Summary

BILL is a fintech company that helps businesses automate financial processes and make smarter payment and cash flow decisions. The Software Engineer II will build and support scalable payment systems, integrate payment providers, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with product and business teams to deliver reliable, secure payment capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Integrating with third-party payment providers through APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in live production environments
• Experience in automating deployment, testing, and infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Collaborate with product and business teams to drive payment innovation and align technical solutions with business goals
• Work within critical payment systems
• Advocate for scalability, reliability, security, and engineering best practices within the team
• Participate in team meetings and technical discussions to help drive continuous improvement
• Experience leveraging Gen AI technologies to accelerate software engineering by designing prompts, rigorously evaluating outputs, and integrating LLMs

Skills

• 3 years experience developing and supporting scalable payment systems using Java, Spring Boot, AWS cloud services
• Exposure to microservices architecture, messaging queues, event streaming, SQL/NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
• Integrating with third-party payment providers through APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in live production environments
• Experience in automating deployment, testing, and infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Experience leveraging Gen AI technologies to accelerate software engineering by designing prompts, rigorously evaluating outputs, and integrating LLMs

Qualifications

• 3 years experience developing and supporting scalable payment systems using Java, Spring Boot, AWS cloud services
