Summary
CACI is a company dedicated to supporting national security missions, and they are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Network Engineer. The role involves assisting in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure LAN/WAN environments to ensure high availability, security, and performance of classified networks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade)
- Monitor network performance utilizing enterprise management tools (such as SolarWinds) and provide Tier II/III troubleshooting support to resolve connectivity and operational issues
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, ensuring compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Assist with the handling, configuration, and maintenance of cryptographic devices (e.g., KG series) and secure communications equipment
- Create and update detailed network topology diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration records
- Collaborate with systems administrators to ensure seamless integration across Windows, Linux, and VMware vSphere environments
Skills
- BS Engineering or related field
- Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in network administration or engineering, preferably within a DoD or highly regulated environment
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliance (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) is required prior to start
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies
- Polygraph is highly desired
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA)
- Familiarity with Active Directory and basic server administration (Windows Server/RHEL)
