Summary
CAI is a global services firm that unites talent and technology to support public and commercial sector clients. The Cloud Security Analyst Intern will evaluate, secure, monitor, and improve a simulated AWS environment while conducting security audits, analyzing findings, developing incident response processes, and producing technical reports and deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Perform identity and access management (IAM) and access control audits within a simulated AWS environment
- Conduct compute and network security assessments involving Amazon EC2, VPCs, and security groups
- Analyze cloud detection and monitoring capabilities using CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Config
- Identify security findings and implement remediation activities for identity and network security gaps
- Configure and evaluate data protection controls, encryption key management, and automated preventive guardrails
- Develop monitoring, alerting, and incident response readiness processes, including written runbooks
- Participate in incident response exercises and incident replay activities
- Create a compliance and governance control catalog mapped to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- Produce weekly written deliverables summarizing findings, recommendations, and remediation efforts
- Deliver a final capstone engagement report and executive summary for client leadership
- Participate in daily standups and incorporate feedback from Elysium staff
- Collaborate with the designated supervisor and mentor to review technical work and professional development progress
