Summary
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Dental & Vision Provider Networks Intern to join their Specialty Business Unit. The intern will support various functions including data analysis, credentialing processes, and collaboration with stakeholders while gaining insights into the Dental and Vision Lines of Business.
Responsibilities
- Seek to learn and understand Dental and Vision business
- Analyze and gather competitive intelligence information for differing lines of business (Dental, Vision)
- Support Dental Network management data input, analysis of basic data reporting
- Support credentialing and recredentialing processes
- Develop and maintain excel spreadsheets to produce meaningful insights from the data
- Create PowerPoint presentations and support departmental projects and initiatives
- Provide crucial quality checks of system outputs
- Attend various meetings and participate in team activities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and vendors as needed
- Support RFPs - Dental Network, Repricing, and Geoanalysis
Skills
- Individual working towards a Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University
- Junior or Senior Undergraduate or Graduate level student targeting majors in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Relations or Economics
- Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently with little direction
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deliverables across varying deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, PowerBI, SharePoint or Microsoft Power Apps) and the Internet
- Strong research skills and a desire/interest in healthcare
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without Sponsorship
