Summary
Children’s Mercy is a pediatric healthcare organization committed to improving the lives of children and families. The Informatics Solutions Engineer provides programming and technical support for clinical application systems, including electronic health record technologies, and leads complex projects through planning, development, implementation, and operation. The role also supports HIT analysts, maintains system documentation, and collaborates with clinical departments and IT leadership.
Responsibilities
- The Informatics Solutions Engineer will provide programming and technical support for clinical application systems with development and maintenance of projects
- This will include support of programs and systems related to the electronic health record and other clinical applications and software that support clinical care
- This role has a commitment to clinical staff and departments, as well as across the Health Informatics and Technology (HIT) division and the Information Technology (IT) department to provide clear communication, collaboration and expertise in the technical aspects of software management
- The Informatics Solutions Engineer role also provides technical support to HIT analysts and leads small projects and/or technology initiatives through all phases of systems development including planning, development, implementation and operation for complex computer projects while supporting the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Children's Mercy and the IT Department
- This role will create and update system documentation including diagrams, technical schema, and project related documents and will work with the Senior Directors of HIT to keep them aware of changes or updates to the software systems

Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics or related degree. and 3-5 years experience in the support, development, and management of Healthcare IT. or
- HS diploma or equivalent or associates degree and 7 or more years experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
- This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled
- CPHIMS (HIMSS) Preferred
- At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership). Preferred
