Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that builds and operates data centers powered by energy sources.
Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.
We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.
We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.
If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.
At Crusoe Energy Systems, our Production Engineering team plays a mission-critical role in maintaining the performance, reliability, and scalability of our AI-optimized cloud infrastructure. As a Staff Storage Production Engineer, you will help lead the design, operation, and evolution of the storage systems that power Crusoe’s compute-intensive AI and HPC workloads. This role focuses on ensuring the availability, performance, and resilience of Crusoe’s cloud storage platform while driving long-term improvements in automation, reliability, and system architecture.
You will work across infrastructure, storage, and platform teams to build and operate distributed, fault-tolerant storage systems at scale. Your work will directly support Crusoe’s vertically integrated, sustainable cloud platform by enabling high-performance storage solutions for large-scale GPU clusters and latency-sensitive AI workloads.
In this role, you will design and build automation and self-healing systems that improve the reliability and operability of Crusoe’s distributed cloud storage infrastructure, including block, file, and object storage systems. You will drive reliability initiatives focused on data replication, encryption, backup and restore strategies, and robust failover mechanisms across large-scale production environments.
Working closely with storage and infrastructure engineers, you will help deploy and operate high-performance NVMe- and SSD-backed volumes that support large-scale AI compute clusters. You will also improve the reliability and performance of user-facing storage services by driving improvements in availability, performance tuning, and adherence to SLOs and error budgets.
As a Staff engineer, you will contribute to the long-term architecture of Crusoe’s storage platform, influencing the design of scalable and fault-tolerant storage backends tailored for AI-first cloud environments. You will lead complex incident investigations using deep telemetry, logs, and performance analysis, while partnering with hardware and kernel teams to diagnose low-level I/O issues and optimize I/O paths, cache policies, and file systems. You will also help drive operational best practices, reliability strategy, and automation across the storage platform.
