Cloud Infrastructure Engineer: Deployments (Mid-Senior Level)

Summary

Jack Henry is a financial services technology company that helps community banks and credit unions deliver secure digital banking and payments experiences. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will build and operate Google Cloud-based infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and platform capabilities while improving reliability, scalability, and developer velocity. The role also involves debugging production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and partnering with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and build the core infrastructure systems used by Jack Henry's development and engineering teams
• Debug critical production infrastructure issues impacting multiple services or sites, performing deep root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
• Design and operate systems with a strong focus on site health and reliability, enabling automated workload movement and failure avoidance
• Use software development skills (e.g., Go, Python) to build and enhance platform solutions that improve developer velocity and accelerate feature delivery
• Act as a proactive collaborator promoting engineering best practices in design and coding standards
• Partner closely with engineering teams to understand priorities and evolving needs, ensuring platform solutions keep pace with product development
• Engineer technical challenges and drive them to successful completion
• May perform other job duties as assigned

Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Software Development, DevOps or with Cloud Infrastructure
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure in Kubernetes clusters
• Practical experience in declarative service infrastructure environments, specifically using Terraform
• Experience in Google Cloud Platform, Azure or AWS cloud environment
• Programming experience and proficiency in Go or Python
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI
• Familiarity with operating in a Unix/Linux and Windows environment
• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science
• Proficiency building and scaling large enterprise pipelines
• Experience managing production environments in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with modern deployment tools such as Akuity, Kargo, or Dagger.io
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and operating within various methods of implementation
