Job description

Summary

eJam Inc. is a consumer products company that builds, scales, and exits brands across retail, direct-to-consumer, and marketplace channels. The Financial Analyst will own FP&A reporting and financial models while managing daily cash positions, thirteen-week cash forecasting, treasury activities, credit facility reporting, and ad hoc analysis for finance and brand leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and refresh recurring management reporting, including monthly P&L packages, KPI dashboards and brand level performance summaries
  • Build and maintain financial models in Excel covering revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, operating expense and headcount
  • Perform budget versus actual and period over period variance analysis, and write clear commentary explaining what actually drove the result
  • Support the annual budget and the rolling forecast, gathering and challenging inputs from brand and functional owners
  • Analyze product, channel and brand profitability, combining COGS and inventory data from Cin7 with financials from QuickBooks Online
  • Track marketing efficiency alongside the brand teams, connecting spend to contribution margin rather than revenue alone
  • Analyze vendor and operating spend trends in Ramp, and flag where cost is running ahead of plan early enough to act
  • Partner with accounting so reporting ties to the closed books, and help investigate results that do not look right
  • Build ad hoc analysis for the VP of Finance and brand leadership, turning messy data into a clear, defensible recommendation
  • Prepare the daily cash on hand and available credit report across all bank accounts, entities and brands
  • Own the rolling thirteen week cash forecast, updating receipts, disbursements and financing activity as new information arrives
  • Track expected collections using A/R data from SAI, and expected disbursements using A/P and card data from Ramp
  • Prepare and route funding transfers between entities and accounts, and monitor balances against target minimums
  • Reconcile bank activity daily, investigate unidentified deposits, returns and exceptions, and escalate quickly
  • Support borrowing base reporting, covenant tracking and lender reporting packages under the group's credit facilities
  • Monitor merchant processor and marketplace settlements, and tie payouts back to the general ledger in QuickBooks Online
  • Maintain bank administration records, including account documentation, user access and payment approval matrices
  • Coordinate with payroll so wage, contractor and benefit obligations are funded on time through Deel
  • Use Claude to accelerate data cleanup, reconciliation, model documentation and first-draft analysis, then verify the output before it goes out
  • Replace manual steps with repeatable templates, so recurring reporting gets faster and less fragile each cycle
  • Document what you build, so the report survives a vacation and does not live only in your head

Skills

  • Orange County, CA preferred, open to Remote or Hybrid
  • Three to seven years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, treasury, or a comparable analytical finance role
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data cleanup and models another person can follow
  • Solid command of the three financial statements and how operating and cash decisions flow through them
  • Experience building or maintaining a cash forecast, or a genuine appetite to own one
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or a comparable accounting system
  • Comfort using AI tools, primarily Claude, as a working partner, with the judgment to check the output before relying on it
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain a number to someone who does not work in finance
  • High accuracy, strong ownership, and discretion with confidential financial information
  • Direct-to-consumer ecommerce, consumer packaged goods or retail experience
  • Multi-entity or multi-brand reporting experience, including intercompany activity
  • Exposure to asset-based lending, a revolving credit facility, borrowing base certificates or covenant reporting
  • Familiarity with Ramp, SAI, Cin7 or Deel, or with comparable A/P, A/R, inventory and HRIS platforms
  • SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Looker or similar, for pulling and shaping data without waiting on someone else
  • Experience with Amazon, Shopify or marketplace settlement and fee reporting
  • Progress toward CPA, CMA or CFA
