Summary

EMC Insurance Companies is a collaborative insurance organization focused on supporting employees and improving lives. The Software Engineering Intern will learn software development practices, assist with application development and maintenance, and participate in testing, troubleshooting, documentation, code reviews, and team knowledge-sharing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Learn EMC software development practices, tools, and standards
  • Assist with development and maintenance of assigned applications
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution activities
  • Assist with review and updates to technical application documentation
  • Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities

Skills

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest in software development through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts
  • Junior standing preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred
