Mainframe Engineer

Summary

Ensono is a managed service provider and technology adviser that helps clients manage continuous change and embrace innovation. The Mainframe Engineer will support, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot critical mainframe applications while providing technical guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
• Experience in enterprise-level ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Service Manager, etc.) and their operational workflows
• Worked on waterfall and agile methodology projects; capable of handling - Incidents, Service Requests and Change Requests simultaneously
• Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex application and integration
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Mainframe applications and database queries
• Develop technical documentation (Knowledge Base articles, SOPs) for business and support teams
• Understand both functional and technical requirements and provide implementation/change options aligned with business needs

• This role requires a skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer with 3-5 Years of specialized technical experience to support, maintain, and enhance a suite of mainframe applications
• Education; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience; Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Experience with version control systems and software development tools
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• US Citizen or US Green Card Holder
