Summary
EPAM Systems is seeking a DevOps Engineer to maintain the stability of core enterprise platforms through diagnostics and automation. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, CI/CD improvements, and acting as an escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud service issues.
Responsibilities
- Act as an escalation point for advanced incident management by performing deep-dive troubleshooting across infrastructure, containers, and cloud services to resolve complex or long-running incidents
- Lead Root Cause Analysis for major or recurring issues, document conclusions, and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent repeat incidents
- Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline failures, maintain infrastructure-as-code, and build and optimize the CI/CD toolchain
- Plan and execute non-standard, high-risk, or architectural changes, including cluster migrations and major upgrades
- Analyze system performance, tune resources, and adjust configurations to improve stability and optimize costs
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Runbooks
- Conduct training sessions to share knowledge and best practices across the team
- Participate in the on-call rotation by staying in stand-by mode, acknowledging issues within agreed timeframes, and driving incidents through to resolution
Skills
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role
- Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux operating systems
- Expertise in scripting using PowerShell and Bash
- Background in web hosting and load balancing with IIS and HAProxy
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation using Ansible
- Working knowledge of Terraform and Helm for infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ messaging and Active Directory
- Understanding of managing security TLS certificates
- Competency with data platforms, including MS SQL, DWH, and PowerBI
- Capability to support IoT Edge environments
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including weekend coverage
- English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher
