Summary
A private foundation working across education, health, and climate operates a digital learning platform serving millions of learners worldwide. The Mid-Level Software Engineer will develop features across a modern Next.js and .NET platform on Azure, primarily using React on the frontend while contributing to backend work and helping evolve the engineering practice.
Responsibilities
- You would be the second engineer in-house, working alongside the Lead Software Engineer and an external technical consultant
- You would be writing code from day one against defined feature work, with the Lead Engineer owning architecture
- As V2 matures there is a clear route to owning larger features end to end
Skills
- Around 3–5 years' professional software engineering experience
- Strong mission-driven orientation and motivation to make an impact
- Strong production React
- Comfortable across the stack - roughly 80% frontend, 20% backend-— and not someone who avoids backend work
- A self-starter who can cut through ambiguity in a small team
- Next.js
- Azure
- C# or .NET
- Education, international development, or building for low-connectivity environments
- Comfortable being the second engineer in-house, working alongside a Lead Software Engineer and an external technical consultant
