Location: Washington, DC (NW near Dupont Circle)

Hours: 10–15 hours/week (Hybrid; minimum 4 hours/week in office)

Compensation: Monthly stipend

Duration: One academic semester can be renewed January interns could be offered

summer opportunities as well.

We are a multiracial, multifaith, nonpartisan, non profit national network committed to

building long-term political power and advancing justice. Faith is not a requirement, but

interns must be comfortable working with leaders from a wide variety of faith traditions.

Position Overview

The Political Intern will work closely with the Political Director, gaining direct exposure to

federal advocacy, legislative strategy, and faith-based engagement in Washington, DC.

This is an ideal role for students interested in political organizing, public policy, or the

intersection of faith and democracy.

This internship is also especially well suited for seminary or divinity school

students interested in faith-based advocacy, public theology, or ministry in the public

square. The ideal candidate is comfortable with theological language or applying a faith

lens to discuss policy and can support faith leaders as they take action on justice

issues. While interns do not need to practice a particular faith, they must be able to work

respectfully in a multifaith environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shadow the Political Director in key meetings, including in-person events in DC.
  • Attend virtual and in-person strategy meetings, convenings, and briefings.
  • Attend hearings on Capitol Hill on your own.
  • Support scheduling and logistics for Capitol Hill visits with faith leaders and

partner organizations.

  • Assist in conducting research and tracking national political and legislative

developments.

  • Help prepare briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up correspondence.
  • Support coordination between the political and communications teams.
  • Provide general administrative and political support as needed.
  • Assist with admin duties such as scheduling of meetings and supporting in

person events.

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in federal policy, political strategy, or grassroots organizing.
  • Ability to work respectfully in a multifaith, multiracial, nonpartisan environment.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal and the ability to engage with

diverse leaders.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to take initiative.
  • Comfortable taking detailed notes, managing logistics, and following through on

assignments.

  • Ability to remain informed about fast-moving national political issues.
