Data Science Intern

Summary

Forvia is a sustainable mobility technology leader, seeking a year-round Data Science Intern for its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The intern will assist in designing machine learning models, support end-to-end ML workflows, and collaborate with various teams to solve practical problems using AI.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, building, and testing machine learning models for use cases such as computer vision, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection
• Support the development of end-to-end ML workflows, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams to understand data and contribute to solving practical problems using AI
• Help optimize model performance and experiment with different algorithms under guidance from senior team members
• Use Python and common machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn) to develop and test models
• Assist in integrating models into applications and workflows alongside data and software engineers
• Contribute to exploratory AI initiatives, including generative AI use cases
• Document code, experiments, and findings to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing
• Stay current with emerging trends in data science and machine learning

Skills

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program
• Graduation of 2027 or later
• Minimum 2.8 GPA
• Data analysis and excel skills are a plus
• Majors in computer science, data analysis, or related field
