News Analyst

Summary

Focus Finance is a global network of students interested in finance and banking. As a News Analyst, you will conduct research on breaking news related to M&A transactions and financial markets, conveying information in a clear and concise format for distribution across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Staying engaged with relevant news sources throughout the week (WSJ, Reuters, Seeking Alpha, etc.)
• Reading the relevant portions of financial filings related stories you’re covering
• Writing clear, concise news stories at least twice a week
• Write concise news alerts in an Instagram Stories format at least twice a week
• Engaging in the development and improvement of our News Division

Skills

• Undergraduate student specializing in finance, management, economics, engineering, computer science or similar (we welcome applications from all universities across the globe)
• Accentuated interest in finance, capital markets and banking, as well as digital marketing and social media
• Commercial and business awareness in the financial services industry
• Attention to details and highly organized
