Job description

Summary

Forge Group, LLC is a global solutions provider known for redefining the traditional GovCon mold and delivering impactful innovations. They are seeking a Junior Appian Developer to contribute to secure application features, testing, documentation, and defect resolution under the guidance of experienced developers supporting a DoW customer.

Responsibilities

  • Implement well-scoped Appian objects, write tests, document work, address review feedback, and build proficiency across Appian data, process, interface, integration, security, testing, and application-release practices
  • Configure and develop Appian interfaces, expression rules, record views, process-model components, and related application objects
  • Implement work from approved designs and acceptance criteria while following team naming, security, and documentation standards
  • Create and execute unit tests, test data, and regression checks for assigned Appian components
  • Support UI, accessibility, integration, and end-to-end testing, and resolve defects with guidance from senior team members
  • Assist with REST integration configurations, relational data access, record relationships, and data-validation rules
  • Participate in peer reviews, incorporate feedback, and raise technical risks or unclear requirements early
  • Document Appian objects, configuration decisions, test evidence, defects, and deployment notes
  • Support record-type configuration, relationships, data-sync validation, package preparation, and post-deployment smoke testing
  • Participate in Agile planning, daily coordination, reviews, retrospectives, and technical learning sessions
  • Protect customer information and comply with DoW security, access-control, and software-development procedures

Skills

  • U.S. Citizen (Authorization to Work in the U.S. will not suffice); previous professional experience supporting the U.S. Federal Government, either as a federal employee or contractor, is required
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional, internship, military, or academic experience in application development or process automation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, OR 2 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Appian Certified Associate Developer certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of start
  • Foundational knowledge of Appian interfaces, expression rules, record types, process models, and application objects
  • Foundational experience with SQL, relational data, REST APIs, and software-development lifecycle practices
  • Ability to write clear technical notes, follow coding standards, and respond constructively to peer-review feedback
  • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills
  • Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoW-approved baseline cybersecurity certification, or ability to obtain within the first 30 days of starting
  • Active Tier 2 background investigation or higher, completed or favorably adjudicated within the previous 18 months
  • Hands-on Appian Academy coursework, Appian project work, or a demonstrable low-code application portfolio
  • Hands-on Python development experience is strongly desired; experience with Java, JavaScript, Git, or automated test tools is also valued
  • Exposure to accessibility, user-centered design, Agile delivery, or CI/CD concepts
  • Active Secret security clearance preferred
  • Previous professional experience supporting a DoW organization, mission, or customer is strongly preferred
  • Strong interest in progressing through the Appian developer certification pathway
