Summary
Fors Marsh is a research, strategy, and communications organization focused on using insights into human behavior to promote health and well-being, build resilient communities, and improve institutions. The Data Management Analyst will support client projects in the Data Craft Center by managing, cleaning, transforming, and validating survey and other project data using R, while documenting processes and communicating technical concerns.
Responsibilities
- Creates metadata files and writes syntax in R, given a written questionnaire, variable names, and descriptive labels; systematically runs test data through created syntax to identify discrepancies between instrument specifications and programed surveys; and cleans and recodes sample frames on projects with low level of complexity with minimal supervision or on projects with a moderate level of complexity with direct supervision
- Reviews the code and output of other team members for any potential coding or output errors on projects with low level of complexity with direct supervision
- Creates, maintains, and uses documentation of data management processes
- Performs basic statistical operations and data manipulation/transformation
- Troubleshoots any issues or errors that occur in the syntax with minimal supervision
- Is adept at applying robust processes
- Works independently on own task list
- Possesses the ability to explain technical concepts in depth to team members within own division
- Ability to identify and communicate any potential concerns to senior staff within own division on all projects and activities they are involved in
- Supports team members within own division with reporting potential concerns to teams across the company
- Achieves professional development through internal and external technical training
Skills
- 1 to 2 years of experience using R, Rstudio, and it's various packages for data management
- 1-2 years of experience cleaning and wrangling data, especially survey data or database management
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in statistics, social sciences, or related disciplines
- Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience using Github
