Job description
Summary
Freedom Motors USA is a family-owned manufacturer and retailer of wheelchair-accessible vehicles focused on improving customers' independence and quality of life. The Full-Stack Engineer will own the backend of the web platform while working across the stack to rebuild the website, develop internal software, design APIs, integrate third-party services, maintain databases, and improve application performance and accessibility.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the backend of our web platform and work across the stack with our small team
- Rebuild our website and develop other internal software from customer-facing tools to operational programs
- Design and build APIs, integrate third-party services and keep reliable data between our internal departments
- Maintain databases, inspect for performance and/or safety concerns, and perform troubleshooting as needed
- Improve speed, accessibility and a customer experience that matches the quality of the vehicles we make
Skills
- Demonstrated experience with production software with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar)
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Production experience with Next.js, TypeScript, and React
- Experience with Tailwind CSS a plus
- Experience building backend systems and integrating third-party APIs
- Experience with Headless CMS platforms
- Experience implementing payment systems and owning the deploying and operation for a live application
- Comfortable working independently and communicating with individuals at all levels
- Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and propose effective solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to follow both written and verbal work instructions
- Outstanding attendance record and reliability
