Summary
General Motors is an automotive company focused on advancing safer and more sustainable transportation. The Software Engineer, Simulation will design and maintain software for internal test creation platforms, automate simulation test execution across local and cloud infrastructure, develop tools for machine learning-based systems, and analyze simulation failures to improve model performance and autonomous vehicle safety.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain software components for internal test creation platforms (ScenarioKit)
- Build and maintain automated pipelines for the execution of simulation tests across local and cloud-based (GCP) infrastructure
- Develop tools and scripts to facilitate the testing of Machine Learning (ML) based perception and planning systems
- Analyze simulation failure cases to support the continuous improvement of model performance and AV safety

Skills
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and One (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and Three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation
- One (1) year of experience with: Python and C++ for software development and Automation
- One (1) year of experience with: Designing, developing, and validating of simulation environments, robotics systems, or autonomous system software
- One (1) year of experience with: SQL or similar database querying tools, and data processing in large-scale computing environments
- One (1) year of experience with: Machine Learning models and Computer Vision systems
- One (1) year of experience with: Cloud-based development environments for scalable software execution
