Job description
Summary
Grant Street Group is a technology company seeking a Data Conversion Analyst to support client migrations to its TaxSys software. The role involves reverse-engineering legacy tax data, writing conversion specifications, validating results, troubleshooting data issues, and guiding clients through data verification and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of project managers, business analysts, developers, and data analysts to migrate clients to our TaxSys software
- Prepare data for customer training, verification by customer subject matter experts, and of course TaxSys go-live
- Help reverse-engineer legacy tax data and write specs for conversion into TaxSys
- QA the results and refine the specs
- Track down bad customer data and figure out how it got that way
- Work on specs for developers, documentation status updates for management, and customer communications
- Guide clients as they verify their data in TaxSys
- Help them understand tradeoffs and make decisions – for example, between “more” and “cleaner” data
Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in each of the following:
- Working directly with customers
- Experience with data mapping, specifications, and/or other deliverables for developers
- Analyzing data using SQL tools
- Experience with SQL
- Outstanding planning and time management skills
- Project management experience and desire to lead projects
- Experience with ETL tool and/or dbVisualizer a plus
Qualifications
Must Haves
- At least 1 year of experience in each of the following:
- Working directly with customers
- Experience with data mapping, specifications, and/or other deliverables for developers
- Analyzing data using SQL tools
- Experience with SQL
- Outstanding planning and time management skills
- Project management experience and desire to lead projects
