Summary
GrayMatter is an industrial technology company that transforms operational data from machines, legacy systems, and human processes into actionable insight. The Control Systems Engineer will design, implement, troubleshoot, and support control systems solutions, while consulting with customers, assisting with project planning, and conducting onsite testing and demonstrations.
Responsibilities
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems
- Designing, developing and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications
- Assisting in project development and planning
- Performing onsite pilots, FAT testing, SAT testing, and demos as needed
- The location of the position is in Missouri
- Position requires minimum of 30 - 40% independent travel to customer locations
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience and training will also be considered
- Experience with industrial PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, etc.)
- Required experience with both Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms, including Siemens PCS7
- Control Systems implementation, design, installations, and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics and electrical installations
- Acute attention to detail and process
- Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions
- Excellent customer service attitude
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments
- The location of the position is in Missouri
- Position requires minimum of 30 - 40% independent travel to customer locations
- Rockwell PLCs & HMIs
- Siemens TIA Portal & WinCC
- Wonderware / AVEVA
- GE iFix
- Ignition
- Networking experience (Ethernet IP, Modbus, etc.)
- Other PLC and/or HMI experience
- Vision experience (Cognex, Keyence)
- Historian experience
- Database experience
- Higher level programming such as C++, C#, Python, etc
