Summary
Greenlight is a family technology company that provides financial tools, safety features, and family management products. The Legal & Compliance Intern will support the Legal and Compliance team through regulatory research, policy administration, compliance testing, data analysis, marketing review, and cross-functional compliance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and research emerging legal and regulatory developments in the fintech space, including consumer protection, payments, and financial services regulations; summarize findings for the legal/compliance team
- Organize, maintain, and archive company policies and procedures, ensuring documents are current, accessible, and properly version-controlled
- Compile and analyze data to create reports identifying trends across departments (e.g., customer complaints, operational risk, product changes) that may carry legal or compliance implications
- Test internal systems and workflows to verify compliance controls are functioning as intended, and document/report any issues or gaps
- Review marketing and advertising materials for legal and regulatory compliance prior to publication or distribution
- Partner with teams across the company (Product, Marketing, Customer Support, etc.) on compliance-related questions and initiatives
- Assist with additional legal and compliance tasks and special projects as needed
Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, Business, Finance, or a related field (J.D. candidates welcome)
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with document management systems a plus
- Interest in fintech, financial regulation, or consumer protection law is a plus
- Prior internship or coursework in compliance, legal research, or a related area is a plus but not required
