Job description
Summary
HeyGen is dedicated to making visual storytelling accessible to everyone. As a Backend Engineer (Infrastructure), you will lead the development of essential systems and infrastructure that support the company's products, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Responsibilities
- System Development: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient foundational systems. Examples include:
- Data Infrastructure: Forge the next generation of data systems to fuel our analytics
- Cloud Infrastructure: Multi-vendor GPU capacity management and scheduling
- ML Infrastructure: Construct the ML training infrastructure to enhance our AI researchers’ productivity, and inference systems to optimize the scalability and performance of our video GenAI
- Product Infrastructure: Create the foundation for HeyGen product
- Collaboration: Work closely with product engineers, AI researchers to deliver best performant systems
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor backend systems for performance, errors, and anomalies. Implement fixes and improvements as needed
- Code Quality: Maintain high code quality through regular code reviews, pair programming, and writing unit and integration tests
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest system technologies and best practices to ensure HeyGen remains at the forefront of technology
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working on scalable and performant systems
- Proficiency in python or c++
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong knowledge of API design and development
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Experience with Machine Learning Infrastructure especially computer vision
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment
