Backend Engineer

Summary

Echofi is a company building a platform supported by core backend infrastructure. The Backend Engineer will lead the design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of backend services, while addressing complex architectural and technical challenges related to security, scalability, and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in building and maintaining our backend
• Provide detailed documentation on services to other developers
• Shape our technical culture and the future of the team
• Learn new things, work hard, and grow as an engineer

Skills

• Have 3+ years experience in full-stack application development (ASP, Node, Django, Rails)
• Excited to learn new languages and frameworks
• Experience with systems programming
• Familiar with best practices regarding testing, security, and reliability
• Familiar with cloud architecture, can design production-grade infrastructure
• Familiar managing complex codebases, especially projects using git and a trunk-based development model
• Deep understanding of SQL, including data models, queries, and ORMs
• Previously worked with trading, banking, or payment processing APIs
