Software Solutions Engineer

Summary

Hyland delivers enterprise content and automation solutions that help organizations unlock actionable insights. The Software Solutions Engineer designs, configures, tests, and implements tailored business applications on Hyland's software platforms, while supporting customers and partners, triaging defects, and participating in peer reviews.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the review and understanding of industry use cases — collaborating with team members on technical requirements and design documents to facilitate effective solution designs and configurations of moderately complex solution logic
• Configure moderately complex software solutions to meet specific business needs — ensuring alignment with functional requirements and contributing to the team's shared knowledge base around solution design and implementation best practices
• Perform initial testing of moderately complex solution configurations — ensuring they meet specified requirements and thoroughly documenting testing criteria for the quality assurance team to follow
• Provide support to customers and partners as part of early adoption programs — assisting with setup and deployment of solutions, basic troubleshooting, gathering feedback, and ensuring a positive user experience during the early stages of product deployment
• Triage and prioritize non-critical software defects reported by the technical support team — ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with relevant stakeholders
• Participate and provide feedback as part of solution peer reviews — contributing to a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and shared technical excellence across the team

Skills

• • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with experience in configuring, designing, and deploying software — and familiarity with relevant programming, database, and cloud technologies
• • Good oral and written communication skills — demonstrating a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact at all levels of the organization
• • Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills — with good facilitation and project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• • Good collaboration, interpersonal, and analytical skills — able to maintain solid rapport with team members and professionalism with those outside of the department, with good data gathering and problem-solving abilities
• • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and development processes — taking on tasks independently, seeking guidance as necessary, and managing projects to completion with oversight, with up to 5% travel time required
• • Ability to use original thinking to translate goals into the implementation of new ideas and design solutions — with a demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, and mobilize team members and business partners
• • Good ability to develop and use engaging, informative, and compelling presentation methodologies — with a good ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others, effective at gaining consensus among stakeholders
• • Good knowledge of systems administration and Microsoft Operating Systems and products — with strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment

• • Demonstrated ability to contribute to team shared knowledge base repositories — supporting best practices around solution design, implementation, and peer review processes
