Manual Software Tester

Summary

The company is seeking an experienced QA Engineer, Manual Software Tester to conduct comprehensive testing, validate requirements, manage defects, and support secure, reliable software releases across the full software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual testing
• Design, implement and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met
• Develop, maintain and upgrade test scripts for application products
• Design, document and execute test plans and test cases
• Validate requirements and acceptance criteria across supported applications, interfaces, data, roles, and workflows
• Review test results and evaluate for conformance to design
• Record, triage, retest, and close defects with clear evidence, severity, impact, and reproducible steps
• Serve as subject matter specialist providing testing know-how to make our software solutions defect free when delivered
• Ensure testing documentation is updated based on the new user requirements
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to improve quality throughout the SDLC
• Report test progress, risks, coverage, and release readiness using objective evidence

Skills

• • At least four (4) years of software testing experience
• • At least two (2) years of experience working in an Agile team
• • Experience with defect tracking, test evidence, requirements traceability, and Agile delivery
• • Experience creating test cases and executing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• • Strong ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work independently while collaborating in a distributed team
• • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• • Strong time management and organizational skills
• • Ability to acquire a Public Trust clearance
• • Experience with healthcare, pharmacy, medication-management, mental health, or other clinical application workflows is preferred
• • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs, federal health IT, or other regulated healthcare programs
• • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, Microsoft 365, and collaborative Agile delivery tools
• • Experience with VistA patch development and release processes, InterSystems IRIS, MUMPS, or VA Pharmacy applications
