Description:

Participants in the Actuarial Development Program will:

• Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, and statistics to complete tasks to perform basic actuarial and statistical analyses to estimate financial outcomes, under significant direction from their management.
• Have the opportunity to engage in dynamic rotations throughout the Actuarial Department.
• Gain practical, versatile experience with each rotation.
• Deepen your understanding of the actuarial field as it relates to health insurance.

Projects may involve all lines of business, including drug, and may include the following:

• Preparation of Medicare and Commercial rate filings
• Development of spreadsheet and database analytical tools
• Project emphasizing developing a foundation in underlying health insurance actuarial theory and applying it to Independence’s business needs.
