Summary
Thoriva, an Infinite Company, is an AI technology company delivering intelligent, data-driven solutions for government operations. The Associate Business Analyst will support stakeholders, clients, and application development teams by gathering information, documenting requirements, supporting testing, investigating issues, and maintaining alignment across teams supporting a large enterprise application.
Responsibilities
- Support senior business analysts in gathering and documenting business needs, requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Participate in stakeholder interviews, requirements workshops, client discussions, and team review sessions
- Translate business information into clear, well-organized documentation with coaching and review from senior team members
- Develop a working understanding of enterprise applications, including mainframe, batch, online, web, API, and distributed-system concepts
- Work with developers, testers, architects, and project managers to clarify requirements and resolve questions
- Help document process flows, data needs, business rules, system behaviors, meeting notes, decisions, and action items
- Support requirements traceability and change tracking throughout the software development lifecycle
- Assist with functional testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of completed work
- Help investigate defects and production issues by gathering facts, documenting findings, and coordinating follow-up activities
- Learn and follow federal government processes, documentation standards, security expectations, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across global locations and time zones
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional communication across business, technical, and client teams
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, ask questions, incorporate feedback, and continue building business and technical knowledge
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, computer science, data analytics, finance, communications, or a related field, completed or expected by the position start date; equivalent relevant education, training, internship, military, or work experience may also be considered
- Ability to document meeting outcomes, business rules, process steps, decisions, assumptions, and open questions in a clear and traceable manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize information clearly and accurately
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills through coursework, internships, projects, or work experience
- Demonstrated Ability to learn technical concepts and communicate effectively with both business and technology professionals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to manage assignments, meet deadlines, and work on multiple priorities with guidance
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and continuously learn
- Ability to work independently when appropriate and collaborate effectively within a team
- Interest in enterprise technology, software development, process improvement, or government services
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to translate complex ideas into clear, well-structured documentation
- Foundational ability to review data, identify patterns or discrepancies, and summarize findings accurately using spreadsheets or similar tools
- Ability to obtain US Federal Government Clearance
