Summary

IP Recruiter Group is recruiting for a remote Patent Attorney or Patent Agent opportunity. The role focuses on preparing and prosecuting US patents, providing strategic portfolio counseling and patent opinions, and may include PTAB, licensing, and trademark work across electrical engineering, computer systems, telecommunications, and software technologies.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and prosecution of US patents, strategic portfolio counseling, patent opinions (validity, infringement, right to use, patentability)
• Possible PTAB, licensing, and trademark work as well
• Depending on your technical background, you may deal with electrical engineering (industrial and consumer electronics hardware, analog and/or digital circuits, RF, semiconductors), computer and telecommunications systems (networking and protocols, WiFi), and/or software engineering (network security, enterprise applications, databases, web and cloud services, operating systems, software user interfaces, open source)
• You will have the opportunity for comprehensive client interaction
• This firm supports new business development and provides objective compensation for client origination

Skills

• Patent Attorney or Patent Agent
• Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
• Patent Bar (and any State Bar for an associate) are required
• Need at least 3-4 years of solid US patent preparation and prosecution experience in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and/or software arts
• An M.S. or higher would be valued
• Any prior applicable engineering product development experience
