Summary
isofy provides a network management platform and services that help workspace operators deploy, manage, and scale secure, reliable networks. The Network Engineer will support the hardware layer of the platform, provide help desk assistance to client sites, troubleshoot network incidents, and collaborate on infrastructure projects and network automation.
Responsibilities
- Provide network support via helpdesk tickets and phone calls
- Interact with third parties, including low voltage vendors and internet circuit providers, in pursuit of issue resolution
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Be part of a regular after hours on-call rotation
- Respond to network incidents and outages promptly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference
- Research industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering
- Collaborate with software engineering team on our custom network automation software, assisting with infrastructure hardware compatibility and configurations
Skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, creative self-starter
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, AAA, Radius etc.)
- Experience with network hardware and software including Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Watchguard etc
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Industry certifications a plus, including CCNA, CCNP, CMNA, CompTIA Network+, etc
