Job description

Summary

Kansas City National Security Campus is seeking a Technical Intern to solve real-world challenges and contribute to projects supporting key business goals. The intern will support IT initiatives, project management, security administration, data analytics, event monitoring, secure technology solutions, and technical support in a high-security environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of IT initiatives and technical improvement efforts. Partner on IT efforts and projects including coordinating activities, personnel and budget
  • Follow defined IT project management processes, standards, and procedures. Provides process feedback supporting potential improvement opportunities
  • Support IT initiatives (efforts / projects) through the conceptual, requirements gathering, design, development and implementation phases
  • Assist in security administration, data analytics and event monitoring
  • Design, implement and test state-of-the-art secure security systems, networks, and database solutions
  • Provide technical support, execute requests and answer general how to questions in a high security environment

Skills

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Cyber Security or MIS
  • Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship for 1+ more years
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
  • Passion for using, developing, analyzing, and learning about new technologies
  • Foundational business acumen and desire to improve your business knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with multi-functional teams to meet expectations of internal and external customers
  • Motivated problem solver
  • Validated academic excellence
