Summary

The Homeland Sector is seeking a Software Tester to test and support an integrated mission control software tool for a Department of Homeland Security customer, including planning and executing tests, monitoring CI/CD pipelines, managing defects, and improving quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Strategy: Develop test plans, strategies, and test cases based on project requirements, user stories, and technical specifications
- Continuous Monitoring: Monitor CI/CD pipelines, test results, and system logs to identify issues, regressions, and performance bottlenecks early in the development process
- Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not introduce unintended side effects or break existing functionality
- Test Execution and Reporting: Execute manual tests, create/execute automated tests, record test results, and generate test reports to communicate findings to stakeholders and drive decision-making
- Defect Management: Identify, report, and prioritize software defects using issue tracking systems, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation of fixes
- Quality Assurance Processes: Contribute to the improvement of quality assurance processes, methodologies, and tools, with a focus on increasing efficiency, effectiveness, and test coverage
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document and configuration manage test cases, procedures, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team through documentation, training sessions, and presentations
Skills
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Up to 2 years of experience in Software Testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 Public Trust clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Experience using Atlassian collaboration tools, such as JIRA, Confluence
- Basic shell scripting knowledge
