Job description

Summary

Maximus is seeking an Intermediate AWS Cloud Systems Operations Administrator for a remote role supporting secure cloud operations. The position focuses on deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS, implementing security controls and compliance requirements, and supporting Kubernetes and related cloud infrastructure tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter proficiency for work described in the task
  • Responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements
  • Typical duties include analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties
  • Must have experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with using both the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework as well as AWS networking and security services Requires expertise in a specialty area
  • Preferred candidate will have proficiency in AWS tools such as: Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, Lambda etc. (not all inclusive) orchestrated/deployed in a cloud environment
  • Five (5) years IT systems administrative experience with both Microsoft and Linux platforms
  • Proficient understanding of maintenance (patching, STIG, and upgrade processes) on AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience in system administration related to ability to manage and operate workloads on AWS systems
  • Demonstrated experience in system administration support and management related to Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • Demonstrated experience in system administration and supporting development and test teams in AWS and along with an applied understanding of Kubernetes and traditional RHEL servers

Skills

  • **This position is remote and requires a Top Secret with SCI clearance.**
  • - Must have experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements
  • - Familiarity with using both the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • - Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework as well as AWS networking and security services Requires expertise in a specialty area
  • - At least five (5) years of overall experience in one or more of the functional area's listed below. A bachelor's degree in related field desired
  • A bachelor's degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience
  • - Five (5) years IT systems administrative experience with both Microsoft and Linux platforms. Proficient understanding of maintenance (patching, STIG, and upgrade processes) on AWS cloud infrastructure
