Summary
Medartis is seeking a Plant Engineer to support facility operations and manufacturing environments. The role leads capital improvement projects, provides facility and equipment maintenance support, maintains EHS and regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead facility upgrade and capital improvement projects end-to-end — scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor/vendor coordination
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance support for facility and equipment as needed
- Coordinate with site maintenance to prioritize repairs, equipment moves, and preventive maintenance activities
- Support and maintain facilities systems, including HVAC, EHS, wastewater & state compliance, building security, and pest control
- Lead & organizes plant catastrophe scenarios and related documentation as well as training
- Lead or assist environmental and safety audits; maintain EHS and regulatory compliance documentation
- Lead or assist project clean-up initiatives and maintain process documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives; identify cost-savings opportunities across facilities and processes
- Maintain and update digital plant layouts to reflect current operations
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment at all times
- All other tasks assigned by manager based on business needs
Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required
- Excellent computer skills required, including proficiency in MS Office
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) preferred
- Entry-level engineering background or internship experience in manufacturing, facilities, or environmental work preferred
- PMP Certification is a plus
- Knowledge or experience in EHS documentation, facility management, and compliance processes preferred
